Sleeping and Relays....how do they go together?

When you have a baby they do! Emma and I went, with our friend Leigha, to watch our dear friend Meredith Bell run her last relays at Drake. Here's a picture of the star!

Just kidding, Emma wanted to run on the track....

Here's Meredith!

If you look right above Emma's head, the Isiserettes are playing. They play during the whole women and men's 10,000 meter race. We loved it!

Fun friends we got to sit with!

Emma got a little bored and fell asleep within the first five minutes of the race.

I told Emma next week we are going to start having her take naps in her crib. I think she's mocking me by falling asleep on the bathroom floor. So close!

Not Bunny Ears, Emma's Ears!

On Thursday, Emma gathered up the courage and got her ears pierced!!! Auntie Cara captured some of the moments.

"This teddy bear is way bigger than me!"

Contemplating if this was a good day to get her ears done as the fire alarms were going off in the mall.
Don't worry it was just a test.

"What are you doing lady?"

"Another one; can't we just do one ear?!?"

After a few tears, she started smiling again!

Within ten minutes of the whole process, she was sound asleep.
It's been a few days and she's still doing well with them.
We're so proud of her!

Happy Easter!

This week I tried 2 new recipes. With a few modifications, I think they'll both be a hit for our family! If I can make them, so can anyone reading this. Here they are and the links if you'd like to try them yourself.

BBQ Beef-Filled Biscuits

Chicken Lasagna Roll-Ups

Talking about food.... No, Emma hasn't started eating solid foods yet, but she's getting prepared. I started dressing her in bibs today. She's a drooling machine. She normally soaks the top part of her shirt by mid-morning, so a cute bib has become part of her daily attire.

When I think of Easter, it's hard not to think of Easter eggs, duckies, bunnies, and of course candy. So in honor of that thinking, I took a few pictures of our little ducky!

But as you look at our cute little ducky, please don't forget the real reason we celebrate Easter. (And if this is where some of you space out and just go on to your next thing, take a minute to read this.) Jesus overcame death for each and every one of us. He died on the cross to take away each and every sin we have committed and the ones we will commit. All we have to do is accept the gift of eternal life that he sets in front of us. We are all sinners and need a Savior. If you don't know Christ, please take some time to think about this. He loved you so much to die for you. Please don't hesitate to ask questions if you want to know more about this amazing gift.
Take time this Easter to think about the
real reason we have this holiday.

I'll leave you with one more video of our giggly girl!

Rainy days

Since the weather hasn't been that great here and we aren't able to go on our walks, Emma and I are getting some chores done around the house this week. She's enjoys laundry days :)

And a video of her noises! I had another one, but it won't upload on here. It's on Facebook and here's the link. Hopefully it works.

Sunshine!!!

We love sunshine! The last few days we've been able to go out on a few walks with either Dad or Auntie Cara. We will miss the warm weather these next few days. But, this was Auntie Cara getting Emma ready for a walk yesterday. What a cutie!

Squirrelin' Around

Miss Emma is growing up faster than I can imagine. She is strengthening her neck more and more each day; so I decided to get the Bumbo chair out for a try. She did pretty well! We'll keep working on it.

Yesterday, I dressed Emma in a special outfit. She was able to wear the outfit my mom dressed me in when I came home from the hospital. Crazy to think I was only a little smaller when I was born than she is now! Yikes!

Now to the reason for the title....

Emma and I watched this out the window today.
He started out with a whole piece of bread.

Nibbling away...

Almost done....

Before we could get a picture of him all finished, he got away on us. But, we enjoyed watching.

She's found her hands and is learning how to hit things!!!!!! Enjoy what I get to see everyday!

Grrrrreat.....

Grandmas!!! That's who Emma got to meet this week, along with many others.  Emma and I traveled to Minnesota for a few days. Here are some of the moments I captured.

Great Grandma Seifert and Emma. Bummed this is the only picture I got;
she wasn't crying the whole time, promise.

4 Generations! Gigi, Great Grandma Reineke, Emma, and I.

Emma's personal guard. Snickers protected her the whole week!

Wearing some new bows from Grandma & Grandpa Udey.

Here comes the proof......

that I think I have the cutest daughter in the whole world!
